Spring is in the Air

The weather couldn't have been nicer for our day at the local Spring Fun Fair.  After church and a quick lunch we spent several hours playing games, perusing the booths, running into friends and EATING!  We started off looking at the selection of classic cars.  Jeff commandeered the camera and we actually ended up having one picture with me in it.

We couldn't get far without the smells from the food vendors drawing us in.

I was surprised at how many bounce houses there were, but the huge inflatable slide was the easy winner.

Our local fire department was there with an assortment of trucks, both antique and current.  Joey had no interest (he's on the verge of finding most everything in these fun fairs simply too juvenile) but Thomas was able to find something to be excited about.

The Vietnam-era helicopter was deemed to be cool enough.  Jeff thought it was fun to see our son from Vietnam in a copter that had been used in Vietnam.

Our last stop was a small petting zoo.  Usually the boys gravitate towards the goats, but both found this friendly little rooster irresistible.

Jeff, on the other hand, still only wanted to hang out with the can-eater.

And of course I found myself picturing our family here with our little girl.  What would have drawn her in?  What foods would she have wanted?  What animals would have been her favorite?  All questions I hope to be able to answer next spring.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Very nice photos (as usual!). Hopefully we'll be able to see you a few weekends from now.
