Peanuts and Crackerjacks

As crazy as the last couple of months have been - with rained-out games and unpredictable schedules - I love baseball season.  This is Thomas's first year at the level where the players pitch and he's such a natural.  He can hit just about anything that comes close to the plate (so we've been focusing on being selective) and is an excellent fielder as well.  His concentration can be "off" but that seems to be pretty typical for the age group.  There's still lots of watching birds and playing in the dirt.

Joey has improved so much since we started in April.  He has had an amazing coaching staff this year - the perfect blend of tough and encouraging.  Between his increased confidence and improved skill level, he managed to get himself selected for the District All-Star Tournament.  Which means baseball's not over yet!  We will have games through next week - longer if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Jeff has been assistant coaching this year for the first time.  He started out with Thomas's team and is now helping coach Joey's All-Star team.  I never get tired of watching my boys play and cheering on their teams.  Hoping that Kate's a little baseball star, too...  :)  Long live baseball!
