XYZ's First Christmas

I spent December wishing that I could find a way to get into Kate's head.  Just when she had figured out how things work around here, everything changes again.  What are all these big paper-wrapped blocks?  Why have all of these people suddenly planted trees in their houses?  And what's with all of the lights & doohickeys hanging on them?  Why is Mommy on the computer so much and what is an Amazon.com?

The tree will be coming down soon, the new toys will become old friends and life as we knew it will be returning.  What will she make of that?  In the meantime, here are some snippets of our sweet girl's very first Christmas celebration:

My brother & sister-in-law gave the kids a gingerbread house kit.  Since the kids are all a bit under the weather today we decided to lay low & work on it.

Frosting...  YUM!

The finished project

Praying for a wonderful new year for all of our friends and family!
